Here in the Chesapeake region, we have our fair share of extremely windy days. The issue is further compounded by intense summer storms and wintery arctic blasts. Specific areas are more vulnerable and suffer more significant damage. And, what’s worse is that these effects are many times undetectable through a visual inspection from the ground. Check for missing pieces of metal fascia all around the edges of your roof or around your chimney. Also, missing shingles should raise a red flag. Other areas of concern are where the roof meets the walls, around exhaust pipes, valleys and angles.

Check Under Excessive Debris

Naturally, if the wind has blown a tree on your roof, you may assume there is damage. However, branches and excessive leaves and other debris may be disguising issues.
